She is a proud graduate of the George Washington University and UNC-Chapel Hill (go Tar-Heels!). Marina swam competitively from the age of five and lifeguarded for over 15 years. She spends her winters snowboarding and her summers falling off a surfboard at Gilgo Beach. Additionally, she suffers from a serious addiction to binge watching Netflix documentaries and doing all things outdoorsy. When she is not in the pool she loves spending time with her hubby and fur babies Macie Bay & Odin Kane and working on DIY projects.
Pamela is a proud mom to two beautiful little girls, Hayden and Riley (currently swimming Anchovies). In addition to being their mom she is also a graduate of Stony Brook University and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Pamela is super passionate about food [loves Pampered Chef], and spends tons of her time cooking and researching all things food. She is also a huge supporter of all things local, including shopping at Long Island farmers markets and being a member of a CSA.

Isabella LavistaSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Bella is a rising Junior at James Madison University and aspires to be a Pediatric Physicians Assistant. She participates in many extra-curricular activities such as Ski and Snowboard Racing Team, intramural sports, and going to the gym regularly. Bella has been working with urSwim for 6 years now and is great with our youngest swimmers. When she is not in the pool you can catch her hanging out with her friends and furthering her knowledge in human and health sciences.
Stephanie GuercioSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Stephanie is a rising Junior in the Honors College at Rutgers University as a Biochemistry Major with aspirations to be a physician. This is her second year working at urSwim and when she’s not in a swimming pool teaching, she’s at the beach riding the waves. She enjoys dancing and is part of a dance company at her school. Some of her other passions include music, hiking, water skiing, snowboarding, and reading. You can always find her in the backyard playing a new game with her family and seven younger girl cousins!
Jenine DemarzoSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Jenine is a career teacher and coach. She has taught Health and Physical Education at various levels for over 20 years and has coached all kinds of athletic teams. She enjoys bringing the message regarding wellness to her students. She is married, has three amazing children and a beautiful, but none to smart mutt, named Downtown Tango Brown.
Noelle FugginiSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Noelle is a rising sophomore at Stony Brook University where they are a Linguistics major and part of the Honors college. They have been a lifeguard and swim instructor for the past four years and have swam competitively since age 10. They love playing the viola, gems and crystals, languages, hair dyeing, art, cats, and Disneyland! During the summer, Noelle likes to surf and take pictures of colorful sunsets.
Amanda FrankoSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Amanda is a sophomore year at the University of Maryland. Amanda was a competitive diver for 6 years, as well as Varsity Diving Team Captain! She has been lifeguarding for many years. In her free time, she loves to go to the beach and read in the sun. She also loves hiking, being outdoors and spending time with her friends and family.
Caitlin McGuggartSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Caitlin is a current nursing student at LIU Post and collegiate athlete. Caitlin has been a lifeguard for the past year and has been an assistant teacher and camp counselor for the past 3 years. She spends her free time eating and sleeping because you can never get enough of either. When she’s not working, she’s probably napping with her dog or on her way to Taco Bell.
Emily AltchilerSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Emily is a rising sophomore at Ithaca College and is an exercise science major with a coaching minor. She is on the collegiate swim team at IC and has been a competitive swimmer since the age of eight. Emily has been teaching swimming and lifeguarding for four years and loves to teach children of all ages, but especially loves the young ones. When she is not in the pool, which isn’t common, you can catch Emily hanging out with her friends.
Rebecca WeinerSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Rebecca is currently a student at University at Albany. She has been swimming competitively for 3 years, and lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons for 2 years. Although it is rare to find Rebecca not in the pool, when she isn’t she is either painting her nails, at the gym, with friends, shopping, or eating cookies and cream ice cream. Keep in mind, Rebecca LOVES to sing.
Catherine ShollSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Catherine has just completed her freshman year at The Ohio State University pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree. She has swam competitively since 2010 and her favorite stroke is butterfly. During the summer she loves to take her boat out on the lake by her family’s house in Pennsylvania. Catherine loves to spend her winters snowboarding anywhere she can. She finds herself using most of her time to study, but when she has some to spare she spends it with her friends at the beach or on a boat.

BrandonSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Brandon is a Syracuse University student approaching his last year of study in Finance and Management. Brandon swam in high school and has been life guarding and teaching swim lessons since age 15. He likes to travel and is is spontaneous at heart.
Paige KellySwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Paige is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta with a degree in Elementary Education. She teaches 4th grade in Queens. Paige swam competitively for about 12 years, and has been a lifeguard for 8 years. When she has free time, she likes to go to the beach and spend time with her family and friends.
Zach is an Accounting Major in his Junior year at the University of Delaware. He spends his free time going to the gym and playing pickup basketball with friends. Zach is also a proud owner of a 2008 Ford Mustang.
Christina is a proud graduate of Queens College, and is currently working on a Masters in Special Education. During the winter, she is an ENL teacher. Christina swam competitively in High School and this is her second season with urSwim. When she is not swimming, she enjoys kickboxing, Zumba and studying Spanish.
Andrew is a recent graduate of the University at Buffalo with a degree in mathematics and is an aspiring actuary. This is his first season as a lifeguard, however, he has been swimming since the age of 9. He loves any kind of sport he can play, especially baseball and basketball, but also likes a nice relaxing day at the beach. Although he went to school in the tundra of Buffalo he’s no fan of the snow and loves being out in the warm weather.
Jessica ChasanSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Jessica recently graduated from Elon University with a B.A. in Psychology, but is continuing schooling to pursue a career in medicine. She swam competitively for 13 years, and has been a lifeguard and swim instructor for over 6 years. She loves to travel and has been to 20 countries so far! When she isn’t working or studying she enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to music, and binge watch TV series. She loves spending her summers at the beach and teaching kids how to swim!
Phil is a second year student at the University of Miami and loves all things outdoors. He graduated from Chaminade High School in 2016, where he played Ice Hockey. Too much time in the ice rink created a love for warm weather, which makes lifeguarding a perfect fit. When not lifeguarding he can be found camping, hiking, or at the beach. He is also a bit of a music nerd, and spends far too much money on concert tickets. He lives at home in Garden City South, with his parents, older sister, and Golden Doodle, Alice.
Anastasia ApotsosSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Anastasia is currently attending her dream school, Sacred Heart University, and is aspiring to be a Speech Pathologist, specifically working with special needs kids. She swam competitively on one of the best teams for over ten years and has been lifeguarding for three. She absolutely loves working with children and babysits whenever she possibly can. Anastasia also contributes lots of her time to community service, helping those less fortunate. She loves summer and spends her time swimming, soaking up the sun, hanging with family/friends (including her pup) and lifeguarding, of course!
Mikaela DavisSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Mikaela is currently a senior at Cold Spring Harbor High School and spent last summer teaching swim lessons to over 200 campers at a Long Island camp. She loved it so much she’s back to teach with urSwim. Mikaela spends the school year on the cheer team, performing in the school musical and has been on both the tennis and track teams. During the summers she loves spending time with her friends and family, and going tubing on her boat. And when she is not working she is constantly shuttling her younger brother around!
Robert is excited to be an upcoming freshman at Stony Brook University in the fall. He enjoys video games and occasionally enjoys long sessions of Netflix. He loves to enjoy sledding when snow falls in the winter and bonfires in the night when summer rolls around. This is a second summer lifeguarding with urSwim.
Alexa GoldsteinSwim Instructor & Lifeguard
Alexa is a recent graduate of Stony Brook University with a BS in Health Science and Masters in Occupational Therapy. Alexa has lifeguarded and taught swim lessons for over 8 years. When she is not swimming, she spends her time training for marathons, practicing yoga, and cooking.
