Why provide my child with urSwim lessons?
Studies have shown that swim lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88%. Swim instruction is crucial in helping protect children and adult swimmers from potentially dangerous accidents. urSwim offers premiere swim instruction taught by highly qualified swim instructors to provide them the skills for a lifetime of enjoyment in the water. Our swim lessons are tailored to meet the needs of each individual swimmer at either of our indoor locations, at home lessons or at our partner summer camp programs.
Introducing your infant to the water is an amazing experience. Our Baby and Me swim classes start teaching water comfort and fundamentals to infants as young as 8 months old. Our Baby and Me swim class is an introductory water safety and exploration class for swimmers 8-24 months. We offer infant swim classes at either our indoor swim schools or in your backyard pool. Baby and Me swim classes may have up to 6 swimmers and require in water adult participation. The earlier you begin exposing your little swimmer to the water, the better.
Our formal swim instruction program begins at 24 months. This allows our youngest swimmers to have the physical strength and motor skills to master basic stroke fundamentals and water safety skills. Learn more about our Baby and Me classes and other swim classes here.
When is a good age to learn how to swim?
Not a problem! We tailor our swim lessons to meet the needs of each individual swimmer. On their first swim lesson, whether it’s an at home swim lesson or at one of our indoor facilities, we will evaluate every swimmer by testing their water skills and comfort in the pool. Once evaluated they will be placed in the appropriate level that will help your swimmer thrive in the pool. You can learn more about our swim levels here. Beginners with no previous experience typically fall into our Level I Anchovy I or Anchovy II classes.
My child has never had formal swim instruction before. What level should my swimmer be?
Registration for urSwim swimming lessons can be done online or by giving us a call at 844.4URSWIM. You can also complete an interest form here and someone from our office will contact you within 1 business day to complete the registration process. All services can be registered online or by phone including at home swim instruction, indoor swim instruction, and our CPR and Lifeguard certification classes.
How can I register for swim lessons?
Absolutely! urSwim provides swim instructors who have the knowledge to provide adult swimmers with techniques that increase skill and endurance. Swimming is a great form of exercise and integral to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Adults of all skill levels are welcome to contact us for more information about our adult swim instruction program. We highly recommend that fearful parents learn to swim and be safe around the pool, especially if they have little ones. It’s never too late to learn or build endurance. Learn more about our adult swim classes here.
Do you provide swim instruction for adults as well?
urSwim’s indoor swim schools operate year-round! Swimming lessons indoors during the winter and spring season can drastically improve your skills and prepare your swimmer for the summer to come!
When can we register for your indoor swim lessons?
There are no refunds. If you have any questions concerning our refund policy please contact us at info@urswim.com.
What is your refund policy?
Our swim instructors are certified lifeguards with certifications in CPR and First Aid. All aquatics staff, including returning staff and management, participate in a minimum of 10-30 hours of annual training to freshen up their water skills. In addition, our in-service training is held multiple times per year. Safety is our #1 priority! Apply here if you want to join the team and receive paid training and discounted certifications.
What training and/or certifications do urSwim instructors have?
It depends on the degree of skill of each swimmer as well as the ages. Pairing swimmers with different levels of swim experience can negatively impact the growth potential of both swimmers. It is best to group swimmers by BOTH age and swim ability to get the most effective swim lesson.
Can children of different levels be in semi-private or group lessons together?
urSwim at-home swim lessons, lifeguard services, and American Red Cross courses never expire and can be scheduled at your convenience at any time. Indoor swim classes expire at the end of your monthly billing cycle or your seasonal membership end date.
